The
2008-2009 school year will be the 24th for County
Line UMC Preschool! Our
program is a Christian-based curriculum designed to prepare
your child for a positive transition to elementary school and
to plan and foster the development of your child.
The magical ages of two, three and four are times of
wonder and questions. We
strive to teach the whole child: mind, body and spirit.
A curriculum for these early years must be based on an
understanding of how children develop and learn.
Our mission is to provide a stimulating and challenging
academic environment in a safe, warm, loving, Christian
atmosphere. Our
curriculum is designed to offer your child the opportunities
that encourage your child’s creativity, reinforce positive
self-image, and offer a wealth of experiences that will
enhance his/her learning appreciation.
No
one program is the perfect teaching tool for every child.
In our twenty-two years of experience we have found
that combing several programs (ex: ABECA, phonics, etc) is
much more effective in reaching all children. The daily schedule for each class includes music, art,
learning center activities, outdoor and indoor movement time
and circle time. Our
“Special” classes include Spanish, Music,
Chapel Time and Movement Classes.

Purpose
The purpose of County Line UMC
Preschool is to extend the ministry of County Line United Methodist
Church (CLUMC) by providing educational and developmental
opportunities in a Christian atmosphere for every child
enrolled and by providing a program of ministry and outreach
to the families of the children involved.
Philosophy
Each
child is unique, with special talents and abilities.
All children are worthy individuals capable of success.
We strive to instill in all children a positive
self-image and confidence in their own abilities.
Our
program focuses on all areas of development.
This program is based on an understanding of how
children grow, develop and learn.
Learning develops sequentially at individual rates.
Children have a natural curiosity and desire to learn.
We capitalize on these characteristics.
Children learn by modeling, observing and doing.
We lend positive reinforcement to children’s attempts
to master age appropriate skills.
A solid foundation in the early years is basic to
future success in learning.
Children
deserve to be children and will be provided a safe and
nurturing environment for learning.
Our teachers are enthusiastic, supportive, loving and
understanding.
Children need to have this same support at home.
We believe that the home and school must work together
and we encourage parental interest and participation in our
program.
