CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Vacation Bible School is coming!!  Join us on an adventure to Outrigger Island July 14th-18th in the evening!  Please go to our online registration form to register.  The sooner you register the better for me so I can plan easier.  It only takes a few minutes to do, so go today!   Plus invite your friends and neighbors to join us as well.

ALSO I NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!!  Please let me know if you can be an Island Guide for the week and lead the children to the different stations.  You can also register to be a volunteer ONLINE as well, at the same site.

As the school year comes to an end we can get so caught up in our busy schedules that we forget to slow down and thank those who take such good care of us and help us everyday.  So I would like to take this opportunity to say a heart felt THANK YOU to so many that have helped make my first year as children's director so wonderful.  You have been so welcoming and supportive.  I have felt your prayers and support!  I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful volunteers that have worked with the children this year.  This program could not have succeeded with out each and every one of them.  It brings a smile to my face to think of so many who are willing to nurture our children.

We are closing this year with a chance now to help others in need.  Please support us in this effort.  On Sunday, May 18th we will be having a cake auction to benefit Shepherd's Rest Ministries which is an organization that provides services and emergency shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.  In addition to the financial assistance we hope to provide them, we are also going to collect some items that they are in need of.  I you can provide any of these items it would be greatly appreciated.  Please bring them to the church office by May 18th.

  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Household cleaning supplied
  • Paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, etc)
  • Bath towels, wash cloths, dish towels
  • Sheet sets (Twin & Full)
  • Food items and/or grocery gift cards

Please call the church office if you can bake a cake for the auction as well.

SUMMER CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES

Fernbank Science Center
June 11th
Cost:  FREE
Time:  8:30 am
We will meet at County Line at 8:30 am to carpool down to the science center.  Please be on time as we will be departing at 8:40 am.  Admission is FREE and includes admission to the exhibit hall & nature trails through the forest and rose garden.

Please bring a picnic lunch in a cooler.  There are no eating facilities at the science center but there are many parks close by that we can have a picnic at for lunch.

I do not know how long we will be there; I plan on doing the exhibit hall, forest and planetarium and then going to have a picnic lunch at a nearby park. Then after lunch for those that can we will drive to the Museum of Natural History (only a mile away) where the Science Center has its Rose Garden and then we will start home by the middle of the afternoon.

This is a FAMILY event, all children must have a parent or chaperone with them.

Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville
June 18th

Time:  10:00 am
We are planning a trip to the Booth Western Art Museum on June 18th. We will leave the church at 9:30 am.  Check out the Sagebrush Ranch exhibit and activities for children at www.boothmuseum.org.

Family Movie Night Under the Stars

Movie: To Be Determined
Come join us for a relaxing Family Movie Night under the stars by bringing your blankets &/or chairs and lounge outside of the Family Life Center.  Popcorn and soda will be provided.

Price includes skating (with rental), the Playzone, and lunch (pizza and small soda). The game room and laser tag may be added when you get there.

Puppet Show 
July 10th
Cost:  FREE
Time:  10:30 am
Circus Fanta-Sea puppet show by "That Puppet Guy", Lee Bryan. Join Captain Tator Tot on a circus adventure in the sea! The 45 minute show is performed almost entirely to music and concludes with a behind the scenes puppet demonstration.  The show will commence in the Sanctuary 

VBS kick off Pool Party
July 12th
Cost:  FREE
Time:  6:00-9:00 pm
Join us for a fun pool party at the Sara Babb Pool in Dallas, as we get ready to go on an Outrigger Island adventure for Vacation Bible School to learn God’s unshakeable truths! Invite your friends and neighbors!  Hot dogs and chips and drinks will be provided.

Wee Worship
This program is for 3 year olds thru Pre-K and is designed to bridge the gap from Nursery to the Worship Service and Children’s Church.  Children in this program participate in a variety of activities to help them learn more about God and the world around them.  This program begins at 10:45 AM in the Wee Worship room on the 1st Floor of the Ford Building.  
Children’s Church

This program is for Kindergarten thru 3rd grade and is designed to help children prepare to attend the complete Worship Service.  Children in this program begin in the Sanctuary and participate in the beginning parts of the 10:55 AM Worship Service.  After listening to the special children’s message they leave the Sanctuary and go to the 2nd Floor of the Ford Building.  Each Sunday a lesson with activities is provided that teaches children essential concepts of the Christian faith.

8:45 AM - 12:15 Sunday Nursery

This program is for newborns through age 5 and is designed for parents who are attending Sunday Worship Service or Sunday School.  Children in this program are given loving care and have a number of inspirational and family videos to watch and coloring sheets along with a selection of toys. 

Wednesday Night Bible Study - 5:30 PM - 6:20 PM
This program is for children ages 2-5th grade and consists of age-appropriate Bible Lessons, games, songs, and crafts.  This program runs during the school year and closely follows the Cobb/Paulding County School Calendar.

All of the above groups will perform on scheduled Sunday mornings and at other events

Confirmation Class - 2009

Any and all 5th, 6h and 7th graders are invited to participate in this years' confirmation class.  It will be led by the pastor with the kickoff coming in March with an overnight confirmation retreat.  We will participate with at least two other churches nearby.  Please contact the pastor by email or phone for more information or to register your child.  Registration is TBD.

Under 2 Playgroup

If you are under two, this group is for you!  We are forming a playgroup for children under two and their parents.  Come join in on the fun.  Contact Karyn H. for more information
