Our Purpose
The
purpose of County Line UMC Preschool & MMO (Mother's Morning Out) is
to extend the ministry of the church by providing educational and
developmental opportunities in a Christian atmosphere for every child
enrolled and by providing a program of ministry and outreach to the
families of the children involved.
General Information:
County Line United Methodist Preschool and Mother's Morning Out
(MMO) is open Monday through Friday (depending on the class) from 9
to 1. MMO serves children between the ages of 3 months and 3
years. Preschool serves children between the ages of 3 and 5.
The Cobb County School Calendar is closely followed in regards to
school holidays and inclement weather closings.
Our Philosophy
Each child is unique, with special talents and abilities. All
children are worthy individuals capable of success. We strive to
instill in all children a positive self-image and confidence in
their own abilities.
Our program focuses on all areas of
development. This program is based on an understanding of how
children grow, develop & learn. Learning develops sequentially at
individual rates. Children have a natural curiosity and desire to
learn. We capitalize on these characteristics. Children learn by
modeling, observing and doing. We lend positive reinforcement to
children's attempts to master age appropriate skills. A solid
foundation in the early years is basic to future success in
learning.
Children deserve to be children and will be
provided a safe and nurturing environment for learning. Our teacher
are enthusiastic, supportive, loving and understanding. Children
need to have this same support at home. We believe that the home
and school must work together and we encourage parental interest
and participation in our program.

PRESCHOOL: 5 DAY 5’S "Pre-Tendergarten" Must be 5 by
December 31st
of current school year
Join us on this “Pre-Tendergarten “ journey
where your child will experience all of the excitement that goes
along with the real kindergarten experience. Even though this is
not “real kindergarten” the classroom curriculum is. Your child
will be taught kindergarten skills.
Your children
will learn basic personal information such as: complete name,
address, telephone number, birthday, and parents’ names. They will
also learn to write (and spell correctly) their first and last
name.
Language arts
will also be a part of their daily curriculum. For example, they
will learn the vowels, identify rhyming and compound words, blend
sounds to make words, and count the number of sounds in a word. In
addition, they will begin reading sight words, color and number
words, and will learn to write a complete sentence using invented
and correct spelling.
The children will
also begin focusing on math. This will include, but not be limited
to, counting to 100, counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. They will
begin identifying and correctly writing numbers as well as
identifying ordinal numbers. The children will begin to graph given
objects and interpret graphs. Solving simple math equations will be
introduced.
This is just a
small portion of what the “Pre-Tendergarten” school year will
cover.
